Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Pulp and Paper Magazine of Canada, 1922, Vol. 20: A Weekly Magazine
These figures show clearly the operating cycle of the single acting reciprocating pump. The double acting pump is similar in its action ex cept this, that each stroke of the piston includes both a suction and discharge element, that is while the pis ton is moving away from the suction valves at one end of the pump cylinder it is at the same time forcing liquid through the discharge valves at the opposite end of the cylinder and on the return stroke this operation is repeated with the valves at the opposite ends of the cylinder coming into action.
