Articles in this issue cover recent advances in the biology and epidemiology of prostate cancer. The Guest Editor updates readers on recent and ongoing trials in chemoprevention of this disease and reviews recent updates in management including surgery (e.g. robotics, laparoscopy), radiation oncology (e.g. IMRT, brachytherapy), vaccines, targeted therapies, secondary hormonal therapy, chemotherapy (including use as adjuvant therapy), and bone-directed treatments (e.g. bisphosphonates). Also reviewed are emerging states of disease unique to prostate cancer, including the patient with an isolated rising PSA as the only manifestation of cancer.
