This is the story of April, an Asian immigrant who is pursued by Michael, a white American until, despite herself, she allows herself to be loved. Theirs is a struggle to survive the demands of culture, family, work, health and other issues. They find that the love they profess to have for each other is not enough to overcome the hurdles that their marriage encounters. From the beginning to the end, they find that their marriage is a never-ending test of trust. Is it a problem of culture or a problem as simple as personality the lovers have to wrestle with? This million-dollar question is one they must resolve. In the end, April learns a valuable lesson: life cannot be held at bay forever. However, the love she promised will stay in her heart forever.
