Excerpt from Proceedings of the General Meeting of Stockholders of the Western North Carolina Rail Road Company, at Salisbury August 30, 1855: With the Charter and by-Laws of the Company
Resolved, That the terminus of the first section of the Tes tern North Carolina Rail Road should be fixed by the Board of Directors at the town of Morganton, in Burke County, and that the Directors who may be chosen at this meeting are hereby instructed to locate that terminus of said section at the point designated.
