Excerpt from Proceedings in the Rhode-Island Legislature on Sundry Resolutions of the State of Maine, 1845
Resolved, That this General Assembly does hereby enter its solemn protest against the interference of the State of Maine with the internal affairs of rhode-island, as an inter ference which can plead no constitutional sanction, and which deserves to be rebuked as a dangerous invasion of the most sacred rights of the Government and people of this State.
