It is the general experience of Science-teachers that students require a fuller explanation of the mathematical difficulties involved in this subject and far more examples for practice than it is advisable to include Within the limits of an ordinary text-book, and it is hoped that this book Will be found to provide the necessary mathematical training. Some of the sections and examples are, however, above the standard required for London Matriculation, and these are indicated by an asterisk.
