The present compilation, which includes a statement of the most modern Canadian authorities on the subject, is the first publication with that design in view. The extremely condensed statement of the law, while it cannot compensate for, must in some degree excuse, the absence from the following pages, of a literary nish, which, it cannot but be regretted, is so consistently absent from all modern expositions of legal thought.
