Julia Davis shares her life with her rabbit Carrot. They live together in a small apartment, and their building is monitored by the world's oldest alarm system: Julia's old neighbor, Mrs. Lemonsky. Her best friends are Teresa, who fell into the pot of personal development when she was a child, and Evy, whose world revolves around her belly button. For the past seven years, Julia has worked at Stevenson Communication, a company where she has tolerated the inappropriate gestures of her boss, Willis, for too long. Yet her interest and fantasies are entirely devoted to Willis' son, Georges Stevenson. She has been longing for his attention for a quite a while now and finally gets it - for all the wrong reasons - when Philip J. Castle joins the company to become her immediate superior. She doesn't really know what to make of Philip, though, as she finds him arrogant and full of himself. A war of words breaks out between the two of them, a war filled with sarcasm and innuendo. She hates him as much as she loves Georges. But you know what they say, there is a thin line between love and hate... What if something else is hiding behind it?
