In the future, the world is perfect. The naturally gifted Prods and the hardworking, easily satisfied Quots live together in harmony. Everyone is governed by the Chance, an impartial device that simulates luck-good and bad.
Everyone is happy with their place in society. Well... almost everyone.
Nav believes that her people are inferior and desperately wishes that she had been born a Prod. When given the opportunity to become one, she eagerly grabs it. However, Nav soon realises that there are grave consequences to not being satisfied with her life. One wrong choice and she could be ruined forever.
Raden, on the other hand, was content until his true identity was discovered. Forced to leave his friends and family behind, he slowly starts to realise that his world isn't as flawless as he thought it was. Shadows lurk amidst the perfection, and it's up to Raden to decide whether he wants to face them.
