Hon. Walter L. Fisher, Secretary of the Interior, presided, and introduced the several distinguished Speakers of the evening, all of whom were staunch advocates of a more com prehensive development of the great national parks. The most distinguished speaker was the President of the United States, who had in his recent annual message to Congress (and later in a special message) strongly recommended the creation of a Bureau of National Parks.
