Publisher's Synopsis
Former British intelligence operative Phil Mason has embarked on a new career as a private investigator. Grateful for the offer of work from his former MI5 liaison officer, he is to investigate low level al-Qaeda suspects who can be eliminated from enquiries. The surveillance work is mind-numbingly dull - until one of the subjects, a man known as Khan, starts to behave suspiciously. Breaking into Khan's home, Mason discovers him dead. An encrypted email on his laptop reveals a reference to an assassination attempt to be made on the US president during a forthcoming visit. Mason must hastily re-learn his old counter-sniper skills if the President's life is to be saved.
