If a single taxpayer or either spouse (in the case of a married taxpayer) is an active participant in an employer-sponsored retire ment plan, the ira maximum deduction is phased out over certain agi levels. For single taxpayers, the maximum ira deduction is phased out between and of agi. For married tax payers, the maximum deduction is phased out between and of agi.
