By the act of the General Assembly creating a State Board of Health for the State of Illinois, this Board is entrusted with the general supervision of the life and health of the citizens of the State. It is charged with the responsibility and endowed with authority to make such sanitary investigations as it may, from time to time, deem necessary for the preservation or improvement of the public health.
