Publisher's Synopsis
Holography is a science that is best known for the three-dimensional images it gives. The aim of this book is to encapsulate the experience of the Oxford Holography Group in the distinct, but, as yet, little documented field of volume holography. The book concentrates on the problems involved in volume holography with real materials. The underlying theory is covered and experimental aspects are discussed, including the selection of equipment, suitable materials, and the recording, processing and testing of holograms. Many results from real holograms are described, and a wide range of applications are reviewed.
