At the Paris Exposition bf 1867 there were presented specimens of the various applications of this important material, including a pavilion, as illustrative of its adapted ness to building in mass; lin'tels, cornices, friezes, paving slabs, monuments, urns, statues, and nearly every other im portant object in which stene is commonly employed, whether for useful or ornamental purposes. The B�ton Agglom�r� must be regarded as one of those new and useful things which the Exposition of 1867 was first to bring conspicuously before the world.
