Many existing commercial port facilities are already obsolete. In order to promote trading competitiveness and economic development, the overall role of ports must be considered more realistically and acutely. This book focuses on the evaluation of seaport planning and development - criteria, requirements and technology. It analyzes capacity needs in the light of new technology and feasibility of future development and examines the effects of new concepts on the technological environments of ocean transport.
