Publisher's Synopsis
The objective of this publication, Poems of Madness from Myanmar, is to create a stronger awareness of Myanmar's struggle for peace and liberty. This is the first to be produced in English, Burmese (Bama), and Rakhine languages, and it is trilingual. It is a virtual mirror of vedana, or the feelings of struggling Myanmar people through the ages since the onset of military rule in 1962. Earlier, some poems in Bama and Rakhine had been published in underground revolutionary pamphlets, journals, and magazines.
