Heather lives in York, with her son and a neurotic half-Siamese cat. Under the name of Heather Cawte Winskill, her poetry was published in magazines including Psychopoetica and Braquemard. She supported Dannie Abse at the first Durham Literature Festival. Her first collection, Spiderwoman, was published by Bay Press in 1995. In 1997, she became housebound with M.E. She has recently begun writing again, as Heather Cawte. This collection includes the poems from Spiderwoman, as well as her more recent work.
