The book chronicles the joy, as well as the loss, but ultimately shows what true love really is. PETS ARE PEOPLE TOO also chronicles the encounters Dallas has with many different animals that aren't his, but who touch his heart deeply. It's a story that shows the differences in humans and non-humans, but which also reveals the many similarities too. In the end, pets are love, pets are the meaning of life, and pets are...truly people too.
