This story is no different from some of the issues many children face in the world today. Petoony is a small-town girl who encountered many challenges when her father lost his job. Faced with moving to a different state, she had to adapt to a new home, a different school, and, no friends. Things went well for her at first in her new school, until suddenly, none of her classmates would speak to her, and she had no idea why. One day, while Petoony was out sick, Crystal, Petoony's best friend, gave an oral report to the class but strayed from the original assignment that she had prepared. Instead, she talked about how her classmates did not like her or her best friend Petoony. Her classmates realized how mean they were to her and Petoony. Afterward, a secret plan ensued by her classmates, to let Petoony and Crystal know how sorry they were.
