Tms volume, which closes the Recollections left by my father, stops at the very moment when, owing to the death of the illustrious Casimir Perier, a new Cabinet was on the point of being formed, in which the author of these Recollections was called upon to play the principal part. Death prevented his bringing them down to a more recent period.
