This atlas is based on figures from the 1991 census data for local authority districts in England and provides maps, rankings and commentaries on 30 topics including housing tenure and tenure change 1981-91, household structures, limiting long-term illness, car ownership and indicators of poverty and deprivation.;Each of the census maps is linked to a ranking of the top and bottom 50 English local authorities. Full rankings for all 366 English authorities are included in an appendix. This resource should be useful to those working in county and urban planning, housing and social services at a local level and anyone interesed in the changing social geography of England.
