This is one of four students' books in an A-level history course, taking students' understanding on from the level reached at the age of 16 through a series of developmental stages. The course is divided into two parts - "A Study in Depth", which focuses on the mid-17th century English Revolution, and "A Study in Development", which looks at the development of political power over the last 1500 years. The course includes a wide range of original source materials and integrates content, concepts and skills with investigative approaches, with the aim of developing genuine historical understanding.
