Publisher's Synopsis
The July 2017 issue of Pen in Hand offers a selection of poetry, short stories, drama, memoirs, and even a chapter from a novel in progress, all by members of the Maryland Writers' Association. For the first time, poetry and short stories from members of MWA's Teen Writers' Clubs are included.
Pen in Hand is MWA's official literary journal edited by Dr. Tapendu Basu, who writes under the name of Gandharva raja. He interviewed Marc Steiner, a Baltimore icon, for this issue and included his play, Monopoly. Barbara Morrison, who wrote a book about her years as a welfare mother, includes a memoir called "Beets." Natalie Sokoloff and Janet Ruck also include memoirs.
Poetry by James D. Felder and Joh Bayerl follow short stories by Carol Westreich Solomon and Nancy Alexander.
