Publisher's Synopsis
Richard Hovey is passionate about saving Vermont's historic treasures. His interests include restoring his 1791 Vermont farmhouse and then filling it with 18th century furniture and artifacts. He found an early sugarhouse and moved it onto the farm property and proceeded to sugar with the old taps and buckets as it once was done. Eventually, he focused his time and talents towards rallying the Peacham town folk to save and restore other buildings around town including the Blacksmith Shop complete with old forges and the Snow Roller Barn, now a museum, filled with a collection of Vermont snow rollers. Over several decades, Richard built miniature models of these buildings and many others, around the Peacham Village and nearby area. This book is a fascinating collection of these models and the buildings they represent. There are photographs and histories of the original buildings or activities represented as well as photographs and descriptions of the models and their unique features. Enjoy it all.
