From "Haveing undertaken, for ye Glorie of God, and advancements of ye Christian faith, and the honour of our King & countrie, a voyage to plant ye first colonie in ye Northern parts of Virginia," to "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union..." we are taught these basic concepts, but do we ever truly receiving them in context? The purpose of the Foundations of the United States is to show where the nation began as colonies, and let those who lived the struggle voice the issues they considered, and the powers, and possible tyrannies, they believed could destroy the nation, if not properly checked in our new government: a democratic-republic.
