Publisher's Synopsis
Hospital clinicians and managers have realized for some time that not all patients who are admitted to hospital for treatment need the full facilities and resources of a ward for all or part of their stay.;This report is based on a study of the patient hospital opened in Sweden, at University Hospital, Lund, and identifies the potential benefits and constraints of accommodating patients in a patient hotel as an alternative to a hospital ward. It will help management in deciding whether to invest in such facilities, and what ground rules should be observed.
