Publisher's Synopsis
This book summarizes recent advances in the morphology and genetics of tumours of the human nervous system. This initiative reflects the fact that increasingly, human neoplasms are no longer classified on the basis of histological and immunohistochemical criteria alone; rather, for an increasing number of neoplasms, genetic typing has become essential. More than 50 expert neuropathologists and geneticists have contributed texts, reviewed at a consensus and editorial meeting in Lyon in May 1997.
