This is a collection of papers presented at the Marshall Legacy Symposium: Partnerships for the Future, held in Washington, D.C. in January 1996 involving 450 civilian and military leaders from forty-three NATO and Partnership for Peace countries. The aim of the symposium was to promote peace, democracy and prosperity by encouraging improved relations among the countries of Europe and with the United States.
