Christopher Morley was a prominent American novelist, journalist, and poet. Morley was a prolific writer and is now best remembered for the novels Parnassus on Wheels and The Haunted Bookshop. Parnassus on Wheels, published in 1917, is Morley's first novel. The book tells the story of Roger Mifflin and his travelling book-selling business. The Haunted Bookshop is the sequel to Parnassus on Wheels. The action is set in Brooklyn near the end of World War I and continues to tell the story of Roger Mifflin as well as a mysterious bookshop.
