Aid Seeking State Pakistan can be rightly termed as an " Aid Seeking State" . Right after its creation Pakistans founder Mr Jinnah requested US for an aid package. As per eminent US-Pakistani analyst Dr Hamid Hussain: -- " (Mr. Jinnah sent a special envoy Mir Laiq Ali to Washington in September 1947 asking for $2 billion aid. Mind boggling numbers and complete disconnect on part of Pakistani leaders when looked in the context that U.S. had not yet started Marshal plan for war ravaged Europe. U.S. set aside $4 billion for reconstruction of whole Europe in April 1948 ". Since September 1947 Pakistan has remained an aid seeker state demanding and mostly getting aid from worldwide.And in the process Pakistans various leaders have worked on various foreign policy initiatives which damaged Pakistan as well as its neighbouring countries. The essential conclusion that I reached after reading Pakistani history was that if governed properly Pakistan did not need any foreign financial aid . We will start with Pakistans agricultural sector as an example and use Pakistans irrigation system as a yard stick to measure Pakistans phenomenal agricultural economy of ripping off the state and gross tax evasion .The figures are mind boggling .
