Publisher's Synopsis
A Series of Devotional Studies on the Parables of Jesus
Unlike other titles with a similar purpose, the series "Parables of Jesus - A Devotional and Contemporary Study" is divided into six short volumes. Each book presents selected parables to be studied within a set period, examining their historical and cultural context as well as their relevance in today's world.
This March, I invite you to embark on a profound journey through the teachings of Christ, focusing on four of His parables: The Parable of the Sower, The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares, The Parable of the Mustard Seed, and finally, The Parable of the Great Banquet. Though spoken in the first century, these lessons-like all the words of the Lord in the Holy Scriptures-remain alive and applicable to this day.
This study is divided into four chapters, each dedicated to one parable to be studied over the course of a week, structured into two essential parts:
- Contextual Study: Explores the practical elements of the narrative.
- Contemporary Parallel: Bridges the cultural, social, and religious environment of the first century with the challenges and opportunities of the modern world.
My goal is to provide a guide that inspires both personal meditation and the practical application of the values of God's Kingdom, inviting each reader into an inner transformation that resonates within the collective experience of faith. May the Holy Spirit of God guide us, instruct us, strengthen us, and make us fully aware of the responsibility that compels us to move forward, as written by the prophet Hosea:
"Let us know, let us press on firmly to adore and know the Lord. As surely as the sun rises, His coming will take place upon us, like the refreshing rains that bring life to the earth at the appointed times."
(Hosea 6:3 - KJV 1611)
