Publisher's Synopsis
This is a collection of papers presented at a recent Symposium on Advances in Paediatric Nephro-Urology, which was held at the National Children's Hospital in Dublin. They cover the rapidly changing fields of nephrology and urology, and are presented by specialists in these fields.;Urinary tract infections are particularly important in children as they help to detect underlying anatomical abnormalities of the genitourinary system and point the way to the existence of certain syndrome complexes. When undetected they may result in renal damage, hypertension and eventual renal failure.;The symposium was held to mark the retirement of Dr Raymand Rees, whose special interest as a peadiatrician was urinary tract infection in children.
