Publisher's Synopsis

The International Workshop on Polarized Sources Targets and Polarimetry is an international forum to discuss new achievements and problems in polarization techniques development. The sources, targets and polarimeters are the cornerstones of polarization studies in nuclear and high-energy physics at accelerators. Polarized 3He, 129Xe gases are used for NMR imaging in medical research. A variety of polarization techniques based on: classical physics of atomic beams, atomic collisions, plasma physics, optical pumping, solid state physics at cryogenic temperatures and others unify nuclear physics with other branches of physics. Polarization techniques development for over 50 years served very successfully for educational purposes.
