By integrating the venous access expertise of interventional radiologists with the bedside insertion skills of nursing professionals, IR technologists play a crucial role in the PICC insertion service by using bother insertion methods (ECG and fluoroscopy-guided). Their involvement not only strengthens the procedure itself but also brings a valuable technical perspective that enhances the overall knowledge and effectiveness of PICC services in the field.

The distinctive approach adopted by IR technologists combines electrocardiography with fluoroscopy-guided techniques, creating a cohesive set of insertion steps that can be readily imparted to other technologists and healthcare professionals.
