Many children's books teach the ABC's, but all the books I encountered didn't tell the different sounds that each letter could have. They stuck to the generic "A" for apple and "B" for boy. When I took my nephew in and was teaching him how to read, I was stunned and stumped on how to teach this effectively. He read every night and when he came to certain letters, or combinations of letters he was so confused. I was inspired by him to make other children's lives much easier.
