Publisher's Synopsis
Our book, OZARKIA COOKING, was such a great hit, not only in Missouri, but across the country and in Europe and England as well, we decided to write another one. Hope you enjoy it. When it comes to food, there is nothing more fun than eating it and there is nothing that will bring the cook more joy than to see the food he or she has prepared being eaten by someone who really appreciates the results of the effort that has been put into the preparation. The folks that live in the part of America called "Ozarkia," that patch of ground where the Ozarks meet the prairie in Missouri, are some of the friendliest, most hospitable people you'll ever meet. The door is always open and food is either cooking or being served. "Come on in and join us." This book is made up of recipes handed down through the generations as well as a few that were "just whipped up." One of the greatest joys for an Ozarkian is to teach a child or grand- child how to prepare a dish, bake a cookie, cake or pie. So, with simplicity of preparation in mind, we have set out to collect a few recipes, not only from Ozarkia, but from all over the country. We've given credit and recognized the wonderful people who have provided recipes to us.
