"Oxidation of Stressed Polymers" presents a unique approach to the problems of polymer degradation that combines the physical investigation of degradation kinetics (morphological, conformational and dynamic changes of the stressed polymer matrix) with a study of the chemical mechanisms underlying fractures. The authors describe methods of predicting and increasing the durability of polymers under the combined action of oxidation and stress, and propose an original method of classifying polymer chemical reactions according to sensitivity to mechanical stress.
