Several friends have asked me why the work cannot be purchased in the Exhibition, to this I reply that it has been offered to the Committee at a liberal discount, and refused; why, I do not know, as they have not condescended to give any reason for their decision. But one thing may be relied upon as certain, that although they have shown a wonderful aptitude to take all the money they can get hold of, they have yet to learn how to take A joke.
In conclusion I hope this will not be the last occasion of sammy twitcher's appearance in public, as I may be tempted to give a few more of his quaint sayings and doings at a future time.
