Overcoming the Lie of "Race": A Personal, Philosophical, and Political Perspective, Second Edition

This book relies on history, genetic studies, and the author's personal experiences to expose the politically inspired false concepts, lies and deceit that underlie the idea of "race." He shows that the false idea of biological "races" maintains social distinctions that have been created to perpetuate a hierarchically structured, stratified society. Our society cannot become a full democracy as long as "racial" thinking is the norm. Yet, we regularly engage in "racial" thinking every time we talk about "race" and use "racial" terms like "white" and "black" without explicitly acknowledging their falseness. At the same time, we must fully recognize the harm that "racial" thinking has caused and create appropriate remedies. This book proposes how we should proceed. This second edition adds additional material including an Epilogue that addresses the alarmingly increased bigotry that has emerged since the presidential election of 2016.
