Kyrie Carter's life in Renovo, Pennsylvania has been relatively quiet since the Peterys imprisoned the Flying Head, but she knows that peace won't last. When the temporary prison is shattered during a scuffle, the evil spirit escapes and the artifact it possessed vanishes. Now the spirit lies in wait, gathering strength for the attack that will destroy all who have come in contact with the artifact. Kyr knows it's up to her and Caine Michaljuk to defeat the Flying Head. But they can't do it alone. Caught between two paths, she must decide if following one means denying the other. It was the Swamp Angel who spirited Kyr into Caine's paranormal crisis, but now that Kyr needs her help, the benevolent spirit has seemingly become elusive and evasive. Despite her many treks into the woods to consult with the Swamp Angel, she is no closer to knowing what they must do to rid themselves of the evil spirit than she had been before. At last, with the night of the new moon fast approaching, the Swamp Angel and her ghostly ally, Loop Hill Ike, reveal the plan that will destroy the Flying Head once and for all. But following that plan may come at a price for Kyr.
