Outlines of the Religion and Philosophy of Swedenborg is one of the more lucid and readable introductions to the Christian theology of Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772) from the classical period of Swedenborgian literature. In addition to the major topics relating to God, the Sacred Scriptures, salvation, and the afterlife, Parsons included a remarkable extended essay on "Ownhood," or our human sense of self. This edition is based on the revised and expanded 1903 edition, complete with its four appendixes.
