Publisher's Synopsis
The story of 'Outcasts and ten quid poms' is a biographical story as seen through the eyes of a six-year-old boy. It tells the tale of a young family who emigrate to Australia in 1964. In the sixties many families left England and were successful in building new lives there and eventually became full citizens. Unfortunately, other families would not be so successful. Some partners found it difficult to settle without the closeness of their parents or extended family. This story is about one such family and their failed attempt to create a new life in Australia. It is a tragic tale of a young family who were never properly equipped or prepared for the challenges that would await them in a new land. The story is backed up throughout by a series of Airmails which form a historical record of events.
