In the not-too-distant future artificial intelligence (AI) in robotic systems becomes common place. Initially POSbots provide cost-efficient and reliable point-of-sale service roles in stores and restaurants. Then SERVEbots are introduced in businesses, government, and private institutions performing various task-oriented service roles to help reduce operating costs. Rebecca works at Venexous, a leader in robotic systems, developing AI software for various SERVEbot roles. Rebecca understands the capabilities of POSbots and SERVEbots and knows them to be robotic machines slaved to human programming. But she is surprised when Venexous announces a new product that can transfer a person's soul to extend their life. Rebecca does not understand how this is possible and struggles to support her beloved aunt who considers it a solution to her cancer. As a Christian Rebecca strives to understand the technology behind the new product. And with the help of her grandfather, she finds guidance that the Bible gives people concerning soul transference and the new EverLife Body.
