This volume arises from the tenth Dundee Conference on Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, held at the University of Dundee in July 1988. It contains papers by a number of experts. Special emphasis is given to nonlinear differential equations which assist in the understanding of nonlinear wave propagation, continuum mechanics and biology.
