A young girl, whose father does not believe in educating his daughters, gets help from a teacher, from a nurse and from her grandmother, to complete her education through her first two years of college. She continues to crave higher education, and even applies and is accepted by a university in the United States. But she lives in Barbados and does not have the money to travel overseas to complete her education.
After emigrating to the United States with a permanent visa, and despite the many challenges of living in in a new and different country, she attends college, graduate school, and even post graduate school. She eventually completes all requirements for the doctoral program and is awarded the Ph.D. It pays to pursue your dreams.
