The present work was taken up with the purpose, first, of study ing the action of alternating currents of low frequency on the detector; second, the behavior of pomt electrodes of different sizes; third, the sensitiveness with different electrolytes; and finally, it was hoped that the results would explain the con?icting conclusions of the different experimenters and perhaps throw some light on the real nature of the phenomenon.
