Excerpt from On the Marine Mollusca of Maderia: With Descriptions of Thirty-Five New Species, and an Index-List of All the Known Sea-Dweling Species of That Island
The species is not very common. I have the two specimens of it got by the Rev. B. T. Lowe in 1829 at Magdalena. Another of his specimens and a few of mine came from near Funchal, but most of mine and one of his came from the east end of the south shore towards Punta de Sao Lourenco.
