Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from On the Influence of Brain-Power on History: An Address Delivered Before the British Association for the Advancement of Science at Southport on September 9th, 1903
Several friends suggested that I should issue my Presidential address in pamphlet form. I thought it might be useful to do this if it could be accompanied by the data (which had been published in Nature on which a large part of the address is based. I therefore begged Messrs. Macmillan and the writers of the articles to grant me permission to reprint certain parts of them. This was at once given, and l have to express my best thanks for the favour thus extended to me.
