Excerpt from On the Calculation of Critical Points by the Method of Heidemann and Khalil
The purpose of this note is twofold. First, the criteria for a critical point will be examined in some detail. Emphasis is placed on elucidating the similarities and differences between the two mathematical formulations mentioned above. Second, a description of Heidemann and Khalil's solution technique using a general two-constant cubic equation of state is presented along with an extension which may lead to a more efficient iteration on the volume.
